happy Saturday!
It is 60 degrees here on Cape Cod and I have had the most productive day "feng-shui-ing" my studio space with some new furniture, paint, etc. I will post some pics once it is entirely pulled together. There is too much for one girl to do in one day really!
Also, I received some great news today that I cannot post yet....it is a secret!
Cleaning off the computer desktop and found these pics of my trip to ABQ in November. The top is my breakfast burrito from Barelas Coffee House, smothered in the wonderful green chile....only the best breakfast on the planet! I was able to share such a glorious breakfast with my friend Frances (we are pictured outside of the restaurant), her husband Louis, and daughter Lucy. Frances is one of those people that will always be a part of my life no matter how much time passes. She was unable to come to my wedding, and I had yet to meet her lovely daughter Lucy....only nearing 4 years old when we finally met!! So I left my husband at home (only a month after our wedding....how terrible am I?) and took off for a week to Albuquerque and Los Angeles on a girls reunion tour! It was great to catch up with Frances and Valerie in NM, and Jennifer and Hathaway in LA.
My mom just surprised me yesterday when she showed up at my house at 7:45AM.....she flew in from Alabama and did not tell anyone she was coming! I said to her that when I woke up in the morning I did not expect I would have the opportunity to spend the day with my mom! It was such a gift! I miss having her nearby.
Tom and I are headed to San Francisco the first week in May, right around my birthday. He made reservations at a place called French Laundry....but I think it is the sister restaurant of the original one, which was booked. He has a conference Wed/Thurs and they are putting us up at the Claremont, which looks shnazzy. I am excited to check out the area again as I only have been there once briefly 7 years ago.
Tom is clamming right now.....he has my car so I am back to work here until he shows up to get me. He usually can get about 30 clams and some scallops when he goes, as well as oysters in season. I tried to go with him when we first met, but always seemed to wear the wrong attire. The last attempt I was in a bikini surrounded by a bunch of old men in flannel. The first attempt I wore my jeans and was soaked up to my waist in the water. It is also a lot like vacuuming....I would rather go the the fish shoppe. So now if I go with him, he clams and I take pictures. The results of his labors is amazing though, I must say. Nothing like fresh fruits of the sea!
