The official opening reception date for my art showing is Saturday, June 3rd at the Island Merchant restaurant, 10 Ocean Street, Hyannis (a right turn at the first set of lights on Main Street, park in lot on the right). The reception is from 4-7 PM.
Bev and Joe have been gracious enough to let me show my work and I am really thrilled about it! They have a great place with great flavors and a laid back vibe to it. If you have not stopped in, you should!
As well, my friend Chris Atsalis at Marjon is preparing to frame the pieces for this show. He always does an amazing job. He has a great eye and really takes the time to talk through precisely what look I am going for with my framing. I highly recommend anyone to visit the shop at 51 Barnstable Road. Chris is especially accommodating with artists and enjoys framing their work.
The show is titled "Elements" and will be up for the entire month of June.
Stop in, have a glass of wine, and check out some "aht "!

This morning, Tom comes in from the chicken coop with a wet egg. He tells me that this is a special egg. I am thinking it is freshly laid and still wet?....which is disgusting really. "No, that is not it", he says. The reason the egg is so special is that our cross beak chicken, the Beaker, has finally laid its first egg! We figured that this chicken would never lay an egg, or have major problems trying to do so, as it has grown at about half the rate of the other chickens due to its limited ability to take in food with its crossed beak. But today, miracle of all miracles, there is an egg! A full size egg at that! What a riot!
Tying this in to this post seems a bit awkward....but on another (human) note, my good news of a couple of posts back I can finally reveal. My step-brother Derek and his lovely wife Lianna are expecting their first baby this winter! This is the true miracle, a new baby in the family.
When I called my own mother to tell her about the egg, she was disappointed that I did not have similar news to Derek's and that I only called to tell her about our chicken.
"Oh, Brother." were her words. Exactly!
